How to send your artwork

To be sure that your products look as good as possible, please use the following guidelines when preparing and sending your artwork.

Please, always specify any PMS colors when placing your order.

Acceptable file formats:

EPS (Preferred format)
EPS files are accepted with all fonts converted to curves. Please save files at 300 dpi in RGB or CMYK mode with a clear-space margin of .125". Logos must be a minimum of 6" in the smallest dimension. Photos must be 8-10 inches in the smallest dimension.

Adobe Acrobat®
In most cases, Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files can be converted to acceptable logo standards. If you are sending your logo as a PDF file, it should be a minimum resolution of 300 DPI at a minimum of 6 inches in the smallest dimension. We (We prefer Acrobat PDF X-1a format, but most PDF files will work.)

CorelDRAW®
CorelDRAW files are accepted in versions 9.0 through 12.0. CorelDRAW files must be entirely vector based, without any bitmaps included in the file. Fonts must be embedded in the file. Please send fonts used to create the logo with your file. Be sure that all colors in your file are CMYK. Files received with RGB or Grayscale images will incur a charge of $85.00 for conversion. Please include a clear-space margin of .125" on all sides. Logos should be a minimum of 6" in the smallest dimension.

Adobe Illustrator®
Adobe Illustrator files are accepted with all text converted to paths. Be sure that all colors in your file are CMYK. Files received with RGB or Grayscale images will incur a charge of $85.00 for conversion. Please include a clear-space margin of .125" on all sides. The logo image should be a minimum of 6" in the smallest dimension.

Adobe Photoshop®
Photoshop files are accepted in RGB or CMYK mode at 300 dpi. Backgrounds must be on a separate Photoshop layer so that we can remove it from the logo. Logos must be a minimum of 6" in the smallest dimension. Photos must be 8-10 inches in the smallest dimension.

Naming Your Files
We have thousands of logos on file. (Larry, the plastic surgeon, sure doesn't want to see the logo for Larry, the taxidermist, on his materials.)

To be sure that we're using the right one, we ask that you name your files as follows.
"companyname_zip code_identifier."
Examples of properly named files:
"Acme_68137_logo"
"Acme_68137_officebuilding"
Example of improperly named files:
"ACLogo40286m04"

Color Models
Please be sure that all elements of artwork is in RGB or CMYK. FILES MUST NOT CONTAIN PMS® (PANTONE®)COLORS OR ANY SPOT COLORS.

In keeping with our commitment to excellence, Swagville reserves the right to reject electronic files that do not comply with minimum standards.

Our most commonly asked question: "Can you use the logo from our website?"

Unfortunately, logos from web sites don't work in print. Web graphics are very low resolution and are in the wrong color model (RGB 72 dpi). Commercial printing requires high-resolution CMYK images of 300 dpi. Without getting into a long explanation of color models and resolution, let's just keep it simple. Web images don't work for print. Here's a comparison of high quality images and what happens when we use web images:
